Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Crawford & Company is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. The role involves conducting business process analysis, gathering requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive impactful business and IT initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and document requirements for integration, development, and enhancement of application systems, including necessary technical components and system integrations
- Participate in definition, design, testing, training, implementation, and support of system requirements, ensuring technical considerations are clearly captured
- Works closely with business staff to understand and document current and proposed business processes and business objectives aligned to future state processes and then translates those into actionable technical requirements for IT Teams
- Acts as the main point of contact for technical queries
- Assist in project planning, identification, and tracking of risks and issues, including those related to technical dependencies or integrations
- Provides technical consulting on complex projects, supporting solution design and system behavior clarification
- Devise and/or modify procedures to solve the most complex technical problems, ensuring solutions meet system and architectural standards
- Train and mentor other BA team members in procedures and technical knowledge
- Provide leadership in defining underlying business needs, documenting those needs, validating conceptual systems designs and assuring delivery quality across technical workstreams
- Ensure that technology solutions and business strategies are aligned and add value to the organization by supporting technically sound decision making
- Work directly with systems and databases to understand how they work without the need to involve developers

- Participates in special projects or performs other duties as requested
- Adhere to adopted SDLC process including any required documentation, with emphasis on technical specifications and traceability
Skills
- Requires a high school diploma
- 5-7 years of experience in a role demonstrating technical and business systems analysis expertise is required
- While performing the duties of this position, travel (by air, car, etc.) may be required
- Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services
- Strong analytical/problem solving experience to deal with complex technical and business problems and suggest solutions that ensure measurable value creation across business and technology domains
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and multi-task to meet critical deliverable dates across technical and functional workstreams
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical, business and executive staff (proposals, business communication, technical documentation, marketing writing)
- Strong facilitation skills to lead technical and business design sessions
- Excellent organizational, analytical, project management and client relation skills, including coordination of technical requirements and dependencies
- Must be a detail oriented, analytical and independent thinker. Must strive for results, especially when validating system or data impacts
- Strong experience in web-based technology environments, including modern application or integration components
- Extensive experience creating business process diagrams and data flow diagrams using a structured systems analysis methodology, including system interaction flows
- Experience on a variety of technology platforms (client-server, mainframe, web), development methodologies (waterfall, iterative, agile programming), with exposure to technical constraints or architecture standards
- Experience writing detailed business requirements, business proposals for web-based technology projects, including technical details where needed
- Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (ie Power BI, Tableau), with understanding of data structures or reporting logic
- Extensive experience with SQL and database design
- Experience with Requirements Management Tools (ie Jira, Confluence, ADO), including tracking of technical acceptance criteria
- A Bachelor's degree and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Business Analyst Certification, or PMI-PBA strongly preferred
- 5-10 years of experience working within the Crawford organization strongly preferred, especially with exposure to systems, data, or platform enhancements
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project delivery methodologies is a plus
