Research Accounting Specialist

CHEManager International is seeking a Research Accounting Specialist to perform accounting duties for Sponsored Projects Finance. The role involves billing, collections, reporting, and maintaining master grant data while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and guidelines. Responsibilities Prepares routine billings to external sponsors for sponsored agreements in accordance with the sponsor's requirements Gathers supporting documents in response to requests from sponsors and external auditors Tactfully communicates with sponsors to inquire as to the status of payments due Maintains basic grant master data elements in BCM's financial system Drafts financial reports to initiate grant close-out Reviews entries, verifies amounts and compares balances, and interpret trends or deviations from expected results Maintains complete and accurate files, including supporting documentation, for all reports, billings, journal entries and analysis Responsible for updating and maintaining financial records Ensures that all transactions are made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and federal, state, and Baylor College of Medicine guidelines Performs other job-related duties as assigned Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job. If Bachelor's degree - no prior experience required.
