The Dubliner Irish Bar in Boston is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced restaurant server with a preference for candidates familiar with Irish customs and hospitality. Provide a hospitable and inviting atmosphere, reflecting the charm and warmth of an authentic Irish pub. Assist guests with menu selections, incorporating traditional Irish dishes and drinks when relevant. Make recommendations, taking into consideration Irish culinary preferences and customs. Attend to customer inquiries, special requests, and concerns promptly and courteously, embracing the Irish tradition of hospitality. Order Management: Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring adherence to Irish menu options. Enter orders into the POS system accurately and efficiently, maintaining proper organization of traditional Irish dishes and beverages. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and authentic preparation of Irish-inspired dishes. Double-check orders before serving to ensure accuracy Coordinate with other servers and staff to deliver seamless service Food and Beverage Presentation:Serve food and beverages with , incorporating customary presentation styles. Ensure proper garnishing and presentation of drinks. Offer suggestions for food and drink pairings with a focus on enhancing the guest experience. Monitor beverage levels and refill drinks as needed, aligning with the warm generosity of Irish hospitality & attentive service. Table Maintenance:Set up and clean tables promptly and efficiently, maintaining a welcoming environment for every new guest. Clear dishes and utensils between courses and after the meal, following laid out steps of Service. Ensure tables are properly set with necessary items, such as condiments and menus. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area . Upselling and Salesmanship:Utilize excellent salesmanship to upsell menu items, highlighting the authenticity of Irish offerings & daily specials. Maximize sales opportunities while maintaining a genuine and non-intrusive approach.. Qualifications: Experience:Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or bar setting, preferably with exposure to Irish customs and hospitality. Knowledge of Irish cuisine and beverages is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of customer needs and preferences, incorporating a can-do, friendly hospitality mindset. Hospitality Skills:Outstanding customer service and communication skills, with a warm and welcoming demeanor. Friendly and approachable attitude, reflecting the essence of Irish hospitality. Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while maintaining excellent guest experience. Knowledge and Abilities:Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and order entry. Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, while adhering allergy requirements. Knowledge of wine and drink pairings, with an understanding of traditional & cocktail beverages. Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods and carry trays of food and drinks, embracing the dynamic nature pub & restaurant.
