Senior Accountant - Hybrid Remote - 2 days in Office

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for a variety of accounting activities of the Finance Department. Applicant may specialize in financial reporting or general accounting. Performs complex activities requiring knowledge of insurance, of company operations, as well as statutory and generally accepted accounting principles. Able to read, analyze and interpret various accounting journals, registers and directives. Will have a significant role in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process for all Builders-related companies. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES • Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual statements. • Prepare month-end journal entries including supporting worksheets and account reconciliation. • Variance Analysis. • Assist in quarterly reporting of financial information to Company management and Board of Directors • Work on special projects and/or requests from management. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE • BS/BA degree in Accounting. • 3-5 years experience an an Accountant • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred. • Public accounting experience a plus. • CPA candidate preferred. • Knowledge of Statutory Accounting preferred. • Will be able to work with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the company. • Possess analytical skills and effectively manage multiple job duties in a fast paced environment. • Strong computer skills; good MS Office skills • Ability to learn new software applications.
