About the position The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for the Health Ministry and Market Record to Report shared services area. This role involves general ledger account analysis, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, while demonstrating problem-solving skills related to healthcare financial operations and compliance with regulatory standards such as US GAAP. The position requires maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders and supporting audit processes, tax reporting, and financial analysis. Responsibilities Assist in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for assigned areas of the general ledger. , Conduct general ledger account analysis and reconciliations. , Prepare financial statements for the Health Ministry and Market Record to Report shared services area. , Demonstrate problem-solving skills related to healthcare financial operations. , Maintain awareness of new industry developments and standards. , Establish and maintain positive relationships with leaders from HM, Service Area, and Trinity Health. , Assist Manager with internal and external audits and financial records review. , Implement agreed-upon audit recommendations in a timely manner. , Assist in preparation of annual 990 and other tax returns. , Complete inter-company billing and reconcile inter-company balances. , Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function. , Prepare monthly accounting entries for input into the general ledger system. , Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts in accordance with established timelines. , Assist with completion of year-end financial reporting package and audit work papers. , Provide financial analytics and perform various analyses. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. , Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare accounting or financial analysis. , Experience working with US GAAP and conducting financial analysis. , Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and various computer accounting systems. , Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Nice-to-haves CPA certification preferred. , Healthcare exposure preferred.
