We are seeking a senior-level Azure and full-stack engineer to support a long-term U.S. federal government application maintenance and modernization effort. This role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and securing an existing Azure-hosted web application used for records and workflow management.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with production systems, understands secure cloud environments, and can modernize legacy workflows while maintaining system stability. This is a contract role with consistent work and clear scope.
What you’ll do:
Maintain and enhance an existing Azure-hosted web application
Support modernization of legacy and paper-based workflows into secure web-based processes
Implement and manage Azure services (App Services, Entra ID, Key Vault, Storage, etc.)
Apply security and compliance best practices appropriate for government systems
Work within an Agile/Scrum framework to deliver enhancements and maintenance updates
Provide light documentation, status updates, and production support as needed
What we’re looking for:
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure
Senior-level software engineering experience (full stack or backend-focused)
Experience supporting secure, production web applications
Familiarity with Agile development environments
Strong communication and documentation skills
U.S.-based and eligible to work on U.S. government contracts (no clearance required)
Engagement details:
Long-term contract (12 months with a 3-month extension option)
Up to 40 hours/week availability; typical workload averages 20–25 billable hours/week
Remote work
Hourly rate: $55–$70/hr, based on experience
