Role Overview This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 employment role. Consultants engaged with Rev Your Business operate as independent advisors responsible for managing client engagements, delivering results, and participating in the upside created through their work. We are seeking a Business Performance Consultant to lead and manage client engagements focused on improving operational performance and profitability. In this role, you will work directly with business owners and executive teams to analyze their operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and guide the implementation of strategic and operational changes. You will be responsible for managing consulting engagements from diagnosis through implementation while serving as a trusted advisor to client leadership teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, analyzing financial performance, improving operational structure, and working closely with business owners. Many of our best consultants come from backgrounds such as: • Former founders or business owners • COOs, Directors of Operations, or senior operational leaders • Experienced consultants who have worked directly with founder-led companies • Operators who enjoy solving complex business problems across multiple companies If you have built, scaled, or helped lead a company in the $3M–$25M revenue range, you will likely understand the types of challenges our clients face. This role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking with practical operational insight to help business owners improve profitability, build stronger systems, and create more scalable companies. Key Responsibilities Client Advisory & Engagement Management • Lead consulting engagements with business owners and leadership teams • Facilitate strategy sessions and operational planning meetings • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on operational, financial, and strategic decisions • Translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable improvement plans • Guide clients through implementation of operational and financial improvements Operational & Financial Analysis • Review financial statements to identify margin improvement opportunities • Analyze cost structures, pricing models, and gross margin performance • Evaluate operational workflows and identify inefficiencies • Assess leadership structure, role clarity, and decision-making processes • Develop recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability Strategic Planning • Help leadership teams develop clear operational and growth strategies • Identify key bottlenecks limiting profitability or scalability • Assist clients in building operational structure that supports sustainable growth • Develop frameworks for improved decision-making and accountability Implementation Support • Work with leadership teams to execute operational improvements • Help define and document key processes and systems • Assist with organizational structure improvements and role clarity • Ensure recommended changes are implemented effectively and produce measurable results Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a strong analytical thinker with real-world business experience who enjoys working directly with business owners to improve performance. This person should be comfortable analyzing financials, diagnosing operational challenges, and guiding leadership teams through strategic and operational changes. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: • Business consulting • Operational leadership • Management consulting • Financial analysis or strategic advisory • Business operations leadership Strong understanding of: • Financial statements (P&L, margins, profitability analysis) • Business operations and process design • Organizational structure and leadership accountability • Strategic planning and execution Additional requirements: • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability • Excellent communication and facilitation skills • Ability to lead conversations with business owners and executives • Strong organizational and project management skills • Ability to translate strategy into execution Preferred Experience Experience working with companies generating $3M–$25M in annual revenue, either as: • A consultant or advisor to founder-led businesses • A senior leader within a growing company • An owner or founder of a business in this revenue range Additional preferred experience includes: • Improving operational efficiency and profitability • Designing or implementing business systems and processes • Leading strategic planning or operational improvement initiatives • Working directly with founders or executive leadership teams Compensation Structure This is a 1099 independent contractor role with a performance-driven compensation model. Consultants are compensated based on: • Client Engagement Management — Earnings tied to the consulting engagements you lead and manage • Performance-Based Upside — Participation in the financial improvements generated for clients • Business Development Contribution — Additional incentives for originating and converting new client relationships This structure is designed to reward consultants who: • Deliver measurable results for clients • Build strong, long-term advisory relationships • Contribute to the growth of the firm High-performing consultants have the opportunity to generate meaningful, performance-based income aligned with the value they create.
