We're actively seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Pacific Life Team in Newport Beach, CA. We are looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data engineering and drive data-driven success. This role is hybrid remote at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters.
Responsibilities
• Partnering with data architects, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions in an urgent and effective manner.
• Implementing automated workflows to streamline data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Monitoring data pipelines to detect and resolve issues promptly.
• Reducing manual intervention to minimize errors and increase efficiency.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and agile methodologies.
• Demonstrate adaptability, initiative and inquisitiveness in issues resolution.
• Ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulations.
• Skills in analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or Statistics.
• 5+ years of experience in design, development, and data management.
• 5+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, ETL, data transformation, and data operations tools (Snowflake, Redshift, Informatica, Matillion, DBT, Python, Control-M).
• 2+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD.
• Effective communication & facilitation; both verbal and written.
• Team-Oriented: Collaborating effectively with team and stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to breakdown complex data solutions.
Nice-to-haves
• 2+ years of experience in Snowflake and Data Build Tool (DBT), and cloud services.
• Experience with automation, optimization and innovation in data management and batch cycle environments.
• Understanding of data catalogs, glossary, data quality, and effective data governance.
• Financial services domain knowledge.
• Data driven individual with ability to setup effective processes in your sphere of ownership.
• Strong communication with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specification.
