About Our Data Ventures Team Our Data Ventures team is at the forefront of Walmart's data-driven transformation. We're a collaborative group of data experts, engineers, and analysts working together to design and implement cutting-edge data solutions that drive business outcomes. As a Senior Data Modeler, you'll be an integral part of this team, responsible for developing and maintaining complex data models that inform our business decisions. Key Responsibilities * Design and Implement Data Models : Work with our Application Improvement team to develop and implement data strategies, build data pipelines, and create robust data models that support business-critical applications. * Data Modeling Expertise : Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry best practices, ensuring high data quality and supporting various use cases, including batch, interactive, and real-time applications. * Data Model Maintenance and Optimization : Continuously review and refine data models to ensure they remain relevant and effective in supporting business needs. * Collaboration and Communication : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Specialists, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to resolve complex data-related challenges and identify opportunities for growth. * Data Quality and Governance : Develop and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the organization. Essential Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. * 10+ years of hands-on experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis. * Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques , including 3NF, Dimensional, and hybrid modeling approaches. * Experience working with large-scale data warehouses (100 TB+), including MPP, relational, and NoSQL databases. * Excellent collaboration and communication skills , with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications * Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. * Experience in retail, e-commerce, or a related industry . * Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
