About the role This is a key role for a hands-on finance professional who takes pride in both accuracy and innovation. You’ll oversee Core Education’s accounting operations, guide a capable Staff Accountant, and work closely with the SVP of Finance to enhance reporting and systems across a growing, mission-driven organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and technologically savvy, with strong NetSuite expertise and a proactive approach to improving processes and reporting. This position also includes management and development of the Staff Accountant, ensuring alignment across all accounting and finance workflows. What you'll do • Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close • Serve as the NetSuite functional owner, managing reporting structures, workflows, and integrations. • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation • Ensure compliance with Federal and State level tax and insurance requirements • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and filings. • Support the SVP of Finance with cash management, AR/AP oversight, and financial compliance activities • Manage the org-wide budget and work with SVP of Strategic Finance on establishing department budgets • Oversee billing and invoicing process • Develop and manage key financial models • Conduct monthly financial assessments and generate reports to be submitted to the SVP of Strategic Finance and Executive Leadership Team • Maintain and enhance KPI reporting across lines of business to guide management and Board visibility into business performance Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (master’s preferred) • Proficiency in NetSuite required, with demonstrated experience in reporting and system optimization. • 7+ years’ financial management experience at quickly growing small-midsized startups • Excellent financial and accounting acumen • Proven experience in financial forecasting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to synthesize information quickly, distill important takeaways, and tell a compelling story • Be a detail and results oriented individual who is self-motivated, flexible, and who thrives working in a dynamic, constantly changing environment Apply tot his job
