Senior General Ledger Accountant

JOB SUMMARY: Our Ethos Finance team is seeking a full-time Senior General Ledger Accountant (REMOTE). This role will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, with a strong focus on general ledger management and financial reporting. This position works closely with the VP of Finance, Controller, and the broader finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting informed business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare monthly journal entries (routine and non-routine). • Complete monthly account reconciliations and support the close process. • Maintain accurate and organized journal entries and support documentation for audits. • Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. • Oversee multi-state sales tax filings and compliance. • Assist with client-specific reporting or billing when needed. • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance department. • Contribute to procedural documentation and staff training. • Support ad hoc projects and financial analyses as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance-related field (required). Experience: • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in finance or accounting with a focus on the general ledger (required). • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and practices (required). Skills: • Excellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables. • Advanced computer skills, including Office suite applications (e.g. Excel) • Experience using Dynamics 365 Business Central (preferred). • Strong attention to detail, specifically in reconciliation. • Excellent interpersonal skills as a team player. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is 100% remote, with required availability during standard business hours (consideration may be given to the candidate's local time zone). Occasional overtime may be requested during peak business periods to meet critical deadlines. This role requires a dedicated workspace with reliable internet. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting, operating a computer, and communicating via phone and email.
