About Our Team and the Role
Our IT Agile PM/Release Train Engineers are the driving force behind the success of our Information Technology and related Business projects. As a Senior IT Project Manager - Release Train Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the budgetary, scheduling, and delivery of assigned initiatives, ensuring compliance with the standards and procedures of our PMO/Next Generation Delivery Organization. Your primary focus will be on leading program and train-level execution, forming and building a team of teams, removing impediments, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage significant complex enterprise-level programs or multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers to deliver large-scale projects with multiple systems and cross-system integrations of complex business processes.
- Develop and communicate plans to deliver major IT initiatives to the IT and business communities, devising summary and detailed project plans, including tasks, interdependencies, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Serve as the IT point of contact and primary interface on initiatives where the business/user community has appointed a project or program manager.
- Coordinate preparation of statements of work, specifications, estimation of product/service costs, and negotiation and administration of contracts.
- Facilitate key ART-level events, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, ART Sync, and Scrum of Scrums.
- Train, mentor, and coach Product Owners and Scrum Masters in preparing and developing features and work items for teams to plan in PI Planning and Sprint planning events.
- Communicate program progress, health, status, risks, and impediments to business and IT leaders, driving relentless improvement.
- Promote DevOps principles inside the organization to aid in the design and continuous enhancement of a continuous delivery pipeline.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years of experience in large-scale project management.
- 5+ years of experience working with Lean-Agile methodologies in a large organization.
- 3+ years of experience as an RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification.
- PMP certification.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to demonstrate Agile execution, leadership, and use of methodology for large transformational projects and programs.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
To stand out as an ideal candidate, you will have:
- Experience working with Data Product Owners planning and designing data source system integrations and data analytics solutions.
- Experience working with data engineering teams to deliver ETL pipelines, data models, and data products.
- Knowledge of big data technologies, such as Azure cloud storage for data lakes, Databricks for ETL and analytics, Power BI for data visualization, and Collibra for data cataloging.
- Experience in delivering large programs using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Experience in delivering large and complex projects involving Utility Meter and Billing Systems and Smart Grid related initiatives.
- Knowledge of Advance Metering Infrastructure Customer Portal and Presentment and Analytics Technologies.
