Job Title: Senior Payroll & GL Accountant Location: 100% Remote (Reporting to Pacific Time Zone) Duration: 5 Months (Aug 4, 2025 – Jan 4, 2026) Work Hours: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT Compensation: $85.74 – $122.76/hour (W2 Contract) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll & General Ledger Accountant to support payroll-related accounting functions. This role is responsible for journal entries, GL reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit support. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of GAAP, can work independently, and thrive in high-growth or fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and post accurate payroll journal entries on a monthly/quarterly basis • Reconcile payroll-related GL accounts and resolve discrepancies • Conduct flux/variance analysis and explain key trends • Respond to internal and external audit requests with complete documentation • Collaborate cross-functionally with Payroll, HR, and Accounting teams • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 5+ years of experience in payroll and GL accounting • Strong knowledge of GAAP and payroll accounting principles • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems like NetSuite, Workday, or SAP • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines • CPA preferred • Experience in high-growth or dynamic environments is a plus Job Type: Contract Pay: $74.00 - $122.00 per hour Benefits: • Health insurance Work Location: Remote Apply Job!
