We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Autonomous Mobility team, developing cutting-edge autonomy software for Amazon's first fully autonomous warehouse robot, Proteus. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack
- Developing sensor fusion strategies for obstacle detection and localization
- Designing software for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) shared across a robotic fleet
- Developing machine-learning skills and infrastructure for robot perception and localization
- Optimizing runtime performance of autonomy algorithms through exploiting underlying hardware acceleration capabilities
- Building frameworks for large-scale replay and evaluation of events in pre-recorded sensor data
- Building frameworks to monitor and control resource usage on embedded computing platforms
- Building visualization tools for reading and debugging robotic behavior
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
