NURS5310 - The School of Nursing, Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner program requires the services of a Subject Matter Expert to teach the theory in NURS 5310. All classes are offered in a virtual environment. The focus of NURS 5310 is on examining the social, economic, political, and ethico-legal issues that influence the professional and intra-professional roles of nurse practitioners as advanced practice nurses.  Experience teaching issues related to professional practice for nurse practitioners is an asset. NURS5450 - The School of Nursing, Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner program requires the services of a Subject Matter Expert to teach the theory in NURS 5450. NURS 5450 focuses on theoretical and evidence-informed knowledge and skills related to health promotion, illness prevention, and therapeutic management of episodic and chronic health conditions common to primary care practice across the lifespan, with a focus on adults. This course includes a condensed on-campus laboratory week and virtual class delivery through the remainder of the semester. Preference is given to applicants who can teach both on-campus and theory, but applicants with an interest in teaching either virtual or on-campus-only are encouraged to apply.  Experience teaching issues related to professional practice for nurse practitioners is an asset. PLEASE NOTE: The Sessional rate for these courses is $3090.60 per credit as per Article 11.5.5.3 of the TRU/TRU Collective Agreement - PhD (or equivalent) is preferred - MNNP qualification is required - Current NP registration in a Canadian jurisdiction in good standing without limits or conditions, and/or eligibility for registration with BCCNM - Three (3) years full time or equivalent in the role of a Nurse Practitioner - Evidence of continuous learning in your area of nursing - An understanding of, and experience in, the Canadian healthcare system Applications will be reviewed commencing the closing application date and may continue until the position is filled.
