Job summary: Shred Working Leads are responsible for the efficient operation of the Shred Department. As a member of the Shred Team, associates will be expected to solve problems, address production difficulties, and perform daily tasks. Working Leads are expected to achieve production goals by working collaboratively as a team and will be expected to involve other support teams in production issues as appropriate. Working Leads will work together as leaders in the department to accomplish our goals. Job Duties: Expected to be a leader on the floor to support and encourage the team as well as hold the team accountable to company polices and department efficiencies. Expected to enforce employee and food safety polices with the team. Operation of all shred equipment, including, but not limited to, KD infeed belts and robots, cubers, shredders, cellulose dispensers, scales, Hayssens, Delkor’s, palletizers and computers. Operation of all conveyor belts and delivery of product through the line including the brine flume Operation of Metal Detectors and documentation Understand production schedules and run multiple customers simultaneously while minimizing waste Accurately completes required paperwork on a daily basis. Track, record, and minimize materials usage Track and record dept downtime Understand and perform cip / clean up as needed Learn the brine process, understand the flow of product from the cheese plant, reduce and minimize brine water from going down the drain Coordinate breaks, lunches and position assignments for shred team. Assist with breaks / lunch to team as needed Work with maintenance to maintain and troubleshoot problems Other duties as assigned by Supervisor The ability to work effectively under pressure is critical to this position. Track case count per customer order and verify correct materials are being used Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, and be productive in high pressure, fast paced situations. Communicates daily issues to Supervisor.
