Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and bilingual Spanish Medical Interpreter to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a communication bridge between Spanish-speaking patients and our medical providers, ensuring accurate and effective communication throughout each patient's visit. Your work will help provide high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Key Responsibilities • Interpret conversations accurately and impartially between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers during medical appointments. • Facilitate clear communication regarding medical history, symptoms, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions. • Translate written documents and correspondence from English to Spanish and Spanish to English as needed. • Assist with transcribing and translating medical forms, patient education materials, and other documents. • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations and organizational privacy policies. • Handle protected health information (PHI) securely and ensure all patient information is kept confidential. • Communicate with empathy, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity while remaining neutral during all interactions. • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure a positive patient experience. • Follow all clinic policies and procedures related to patient privacy, documentation, and interpreter ethics. Qualifications • Fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required. • Previous medical interpreting experience is preferred. • Knowledge of medical terminology in both English and Spanish. • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail. • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and accuracy in a healthcare setting. • Medical interpreter certification is preferred but not required.
