Sr. BI Analyst (SQL, Power BI, SSIS, Azure)

Title: Sr. BI Analyst (SQL, Power BI, SSIS, Azure) 3-6 month contract w/ potential for hire No Sponsorship Remote The Senior BI Analyst will be able to design solutions from the ground up while also understanding the data requirements that drive business decisions, including forecasting, KPIs, and operational excellence. This role will collaborate closely with teams across IT and business functions and influence stakeholders through analytics and data-driven insights. Requirements: • Advanced SQL knowledge with 7+ years of experience across multiple platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.), including database modeling, creation, and operations • Expert-level proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL, with proven ability to build efficient data models and perform complex queries • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Dataflows and Datamarts in Power BI Service • Expertise in optimizing Power BI reports and queries for faster performance and improved responsiveness • Strong experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS • Experience with cloud development on Azure, AWS, or GCP (Azure strongly preferred) • Excellent management, communication, and collaboration skills with a focus on process improvement, automation, and optimization • Highly proficient in working with large datasets in spreadsheets and enterprise information systems • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field • Ability to translate loosely defined requirements into actionable BI solutions • Skilled in delivering effective training and presentations to senior management and business groups • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities Preferred: • Familiarity with systems integration using tools and languages such as SSIS, C#, Python, and JavaScript • Experience building Power Automate Flows is a plus Responsibilities: • Design and development of reporting solutions utilizing SQL Server and Power BI • Design and development of data integrations utilizing SQL and SSIS • Develop, document, and maintain Power BI and Tableau dashboards utilizing best practices and industry standards. • Analyze the existing transactional data repositories to identify and create data mapping and business rules for ETL, based on business needs. • Contribute to and partner with Product and Development teams in the creation of procedural automation and associated project lifecycle, including concept delivery, user testing, and deployment. • Establish regular validation processes to ensure data integrity and recommend new reports, feeds, and processes to support the business model. • Provide technical guidance to other members of the development team. • Identify and implement potential enhancements in collaboration with stakeholders.
