Sr Financial Analyst, Strategy

Instructure is looking for a rockstar to join our FP&A Strategy Team. This is a great role for a finance professional who enjoys thinking strategically, working cross-functionally, and making the financial business case for new ideas and initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A Strategy, this role is ideal for someone to master the elements of strategic decision making and long-range planning through growth initiatives at a world-class SaaS company What you will be doing • Perform ROI analyses for new initiatives and investments, including building P&L models to measure the impact on the existing business and reporting metrics. • Drive ROI results by building and maintaining relationships with business leaders • Measure actual performance against ROI analyses • Perform due diligence and financial modeling for mergers and acquisitions • Drive meaningful inorganic growth with executive-level visibility in collaboration with Corporate Development team and business leaders • Measure integration progress and post-close performance against deal model • Perform Long Range Plan modeling by updating with strategic business cases, actual results, etc. The Long Range Plan includes elements of new sales, renewals, and three financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows). • Collaborate with executives and inform them on the Long Range Plan inputs over corporate strategy, product strategy, go-to-market, and operations • Measure actual performance against the Long Range Plan • Provide strategic financial insights to support the organization's long term growth and profitability • Support Chief Strategy Officer with ad-hoc reporting and data for decision making • Perform market research from reliable data sources to provide business insights • Prepare presentations for the executive leadership team • Leverage business knowledge and expertise to drive business process improvements • Tackle all responsibilities with the Perform, Drive, Measure Framework What you will need to know/have • Bachelor’s degree required • 3-5 years of Investment Banking, FP&A, or analytical experience • Expert modeling skills with the ability to create models from scratch • Strong analytical abilities to manage large data sets and synthesize/present complex information in a structured, cohesive narrative • Strong work ethic, integrity, and productivity • Ability to work non-traditional hours, if needed • Experience in a fast-paced, growth company • Strong communication skills for a successful remote work environment • Strong business partnering skills and holistic view of business strategy, processes, and financial objectives • Self-starter and quick learner; demonstrated independence and autonomy in a high-performing work environment • Demonstrated ability and desire to think creatively and embrace ambiguity • Significant experience in Excel, PowerPoint/Google Slides • Exceptional presentation and communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate and deal effectively with all levels of an organization • Bias towards finding solutions vs. shutting down ideas Bonus if you also have • Background in Public Accounting M&A, Investment banking, and Tech/Software/SaaS • MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance • Proficiency using SQL to manipulate large data sets • Familiarity with SalesForce data objects and structure Get in on all the awesome at Instructure! • Competitive salary and 401k • 100% paid medical, dental, disability, and life insurance • HSA program, vision, voluntary life, and AD&D • Tuition reimbursement • Paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and flexible work schedules We’ve always believed in hiring the most awesome people and treating them right.
