Join Grant Thornton as a Strategic Assurance and SOC Services Intern, delivering client engagements and gaining hands-on experience in audit and advisory services. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Work with clients to plan engagement strategy, define objectives, and address business risks and controls • Apply knowledge of trends to identify business risk management issues and improvement opportunities • Test and evaluate business processes and IT controls to mitigate risk • Execute assigned client engagements from start to completion of business process and information systems • Participate in client status updates and draft client deliverables • Gain comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives • Participate in recruiting efforts as needed • Utilize data collection techniques to obtain control evidence, apply testing methods, and document results • Perform detailed analysis to assess compliance and provide recommendations • Use and learn new technologies to collaborate and enhance service delivery About You The company is looking for: • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, MIS, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus • Minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred • Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel 20%-50% • Desire to pursue CPA, CISA, CIA license/certification preferred • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills • Effective project and time management skills for handling multiple priorities • Enthusiasm to learn through structured, on-the-job, and self-directed training • Ability to work efficiently in a complex team environment • Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships • Strong verbal, written, presentation, organizational, and project management skills Compensation & Benefits • Pay rate of $37 per hour (Chicago, IL office) • Interns eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance programs • Access to employee assistance program • Minimum of 72 hours paid sick leave • Paid firm holidays during internship period • Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and firm performance (not applicable to interns) Training & Development Interns will participate as active members on consulting and assurance projects, executing high-quality engagements under experienced leadership, and continuously developing technical and professional skills through structured, on-the-job, and self-directed training.
