Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail‑oriented Student Loan Advisor to join our Customer Contact Center team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for borrowers who have questions about their student loans, repayment options, and application processes. You will handle inbound calls, live chat inquiries, and outbound follow‑ups, delivering accurate information while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and empathy. After a successful 90‑day performance period, high‑achieving team members will have the opportunity to transition to a work‑from‑home arrangement, provided they meet attendance, compliance, and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound telephone calls, chat messages, and email inquiries from student loan borrowers with a focus on active listening and empathy.
- Navigate careerzynith’s suite of contact‑center tools—including the telephone system, CRM, and web‑based knowledge base—to locate pre‑scripted responses and deliver information verbatim when required.
- Assist callers in completing and submitting loan applications, ensuring all required fields are accurately filled and documents are uploaded to the plan provider’s portal.
- Document each interaction thoroughly by logging call details, selecting appropriate script confirmations, and noting any follow‑up actions in the system.
- Adhere to careerzynith’s documented policies, standard operating procedures, and privacy regulations while handling sensitive borrower data.
- Identify emerging issues or recurring borrower concerns and communicate trends to the team lead for continuous improvement.
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge by staying current on federal student loan regulations, repayment plans, forgiveness programs, and careerzynith’s service offerings.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions, role‑plays, and quality‑monitoring reviews to refine communication skills and increase first‑call resolution rates.
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) such as average handle time, adherence, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Provide courteous, solution‑focused service on holidays and during overtime periods as needed to support business continuity.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in finance, customer service, or related fields are a plus.
- Fluent, clear, and professional spoken and written English; ability to articulate complex loan concepts in simple terms.
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Windows‑based computers, web browsers, and standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed established performance metrics in a call‑center environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building rapport and trust with customers.
- Ability to multi‑task, stay organized, and manage simultaneous inquiries without sacrificing quality.
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts, including occasional holidays and overtime as business needs dictate.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in student loan servicing, financial services, or a related advisory role.
- Familiarity with contact‑center technologies such as automatic call distributors (ACD), interactive voice response (IVR) systems, and chat platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and the ability to generate basic reports.
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software to track interactions and outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, such as mentoring new hires or taking initiative on process improvements.
- Certification in customer service excellence (e.g., Certified Customer Service Professional) or related industry credentials.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base pay that reflects your experience and performance.
- Immediate accrual of sick time following successful completion of training.
- Special event days throughout the year to celebrate milestones, holidays, and team achievements.
- Company‑paid $25,000 life insurance policy, providing peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
- Paid holidays from day one of employment, contingent upon meeting eligibility criteria.
- Access to a comprehensive benefits suite (medical, dental, vision) after the standard eligibility period.
- Employee assistance program (EAP) offering confidential counseling, financial advice, and wellness resources.
- Opportunities for tuition reimbursement and professional development courses to support career advancement.
