As a Student Tutor, you will play a vital role in this exclusive partnership, utilizing your skills and expertise to make a positive impact on the academic journey of young learners. About the Opportunity This hybrid role offers the flexibility to balance your time between our remote office and home, allowing you to work in a setting that suits your needs. As a Student Tutor, you will have the opportunity to engage with K-12 students, providing personalized support in various subject areas, including Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, Ojibwe, and Music. Key Responsibilities Provide online tutoring in at least one area of the K-12 curriculum Complete a short paid training (2-3 hours) in Brightspace before working with K-12 students Use the Setmore application to make tutoring times available for students to book appointments Conduct 50-minute tutoring sessions during the booked time, tailoring your support to the student's needs Complete a tutor log after each session to track progress and reflect on your experience Communicate with students and parents in a professional and ethical manner, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must: Be a current, full-time student at The College of St. Scholastica Possess expertise in at least one area of the K-12 curriculum Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with K-12 students Be familiar with effective online teaching and learning strategies Show excellent time management and professionalism, including punctuality and effective communication with stakeholders Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued: Experience working with K-12 students, either through tutoring or other educational settings What We Offer As a Student Tutor, you will have the opportunity to: Gain valuable experience in online teaching and learning, developing your skills in a flexible and supportive environment Earn a competitive hourly rate of $15.00, with the potential to work up to 3 hours per weekday Be part of a collaborative team, working together to make a positive impact on the academic success of K-12 students Enhance your understanding of effective online teaching strategies and technologies Career Growth and Learning Benefits This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development, allowing you to: Develop your teaching and communication skills, adapting to the needs of diverse learners Explore different subject areas and teaching methods, broadening your expertise and confidence Build a network of peers and professionals in the education sector, potentially leading to future career opportunities Work Environment and Company Culture The College of St. Scholastica is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, valuing diversity and promoting equity in all aspects of our community.
