Job Summary As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education at Colorado Skies Academy, you will have the opportunity to work on your own schedule, gaining hands-on teaching experience while making a positive impact on students' lives. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $189 for day-to-day assignments and higher rates for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom, including free online training, one-on-one check-ins, and a dedicated consultant to guide you throughout your subbing journey. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students in a variety of subjects, including but not limited to Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, and Drama Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their full potential Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning Collaborate with other educators and school staff to ensure seamless delivery of educational services Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant data Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (or in the process of obtaining) Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and other stakeholders Passion for education and a commitment to putting students first Empathetic nature, growth mindset, and drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field Previous teaching experience, especially in a substitute or part-time capacity Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools What We Offer Competitive pay rates, with up to $189 for day-to-day assignments and higher rates for long-term assignments Weekly pay and W-2 employment status, with no fussing with taxes Reimbursement for expenses related to state background checks Opportunities for professional growth and development, including free online training Dedicated consultant support to guide you throughout your subbing journey One-on-one check-ins and regular feedback to help you improve and succeed Flexible scheduling and the ability to choose your own assignments Referral program: refer friends to sub with Scoot and earn $100 gift cards after they work 10 shifts Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our substitutes.
