Job Title: Systems Analyst

Job Type: Full-Time/Contract - 2 years (renewable)

Location: Jamaica (Remote)

Role Summary:

The Systems Analyst provides expertise regarding systems development implementation, maintenance and support activities to a wide range of business and technical situations throughout the SBU / SSU support area. The Analyst is responsible for leading, planning, and analysing complex business requirements and implementing technology enabled solutions to address multi-facetted business opportunities and challenges.

The incumbent is Accountable for executing conceptual frameworks, implementation strategies and plans for recommended changes within SBU / SSU support area. The Analyst proactively contributes toward the development of the Technology teams tactical plans in support of business initiatives and occasionally offers directional guidance to clients and other applicable audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Codes or makes modifications to programmes according to detailed business requirements and specifications, including the execution of team and operability testing.
  2. Provides the required documentation including software unit test strategy, plan, matrix, scripts, execution completion report, software impact analysis, back-out and recovery procedures, technical implementation procedures, computer run sheet updates, system documentation, data dictionary updates and system user guide.
  3. Conducts feasibility studies of multi-discipline business opportunities and challenges, assuming the responsibility for the development of business proposals.
  1. Ensures compliance with established policies, standards and methodologies, e.g., project planning, security etc.
  2. Ensures that no outages / problems are identified during user acceptance, operability and / or stress and performance testing or product implementation.
  3. Participates in post-implementation reviews as required.
  1. Provides expertise in areas of speciality, e.g., become the specialist in one or more information technology disciplines, commensurate with the current state of technologies.
  2. Forecasts future trends, anticipates problems and conditions (e.g., volumes, new developments, turnover, etc.).
  3. Conducts highly complex evaluations for product releases, standalone products, etc.
