About the Role
In this role, you will own technical engagement activities to support JOEM growth for HARMAN Visual Experiences, covering software and hardware products that address advanced in-vehicle visual systems. This includes Augmented Reality Head-Up Displays (AR-HUD), QVUE Projection HUD (P-HUD), AR software for HUD, future Windshield Solutions, and automotive display systems based on neoQLED, OLED, and microLED technologies. You will own short-term and long-term product engineering support activities to realize growth for HARMAN and showcase cutting-edge Visual Experiences solutions to OEMs and key stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Demonstrate strong technical aptitude with experience in automotive hardware, mechanical, software, and optical engineering across Visual Experiences systems
Engage directly with JOEM customers, supporting engineering and product planning teams for AR-HUD, QVUE (P-HUD), and Display solutions
Build a strong understanding of the market for Visual Experiences products, including AR-HUD, neoQLED, OLED, and microLED display platforms
Present Visual Experiences demonstration systems and technology roadmaps at customer events and trade fairs
Collaborate with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to integrate AR-HUD, P-HUD, neoQLED, OLED, and other automotive display systems into vehicle platforms
Perform limited optical performance validation and on-site testing for HUD and display systems
Utilize luminance meters, photometers, and camera-based systems to evaluate display optical performance
Familiarity with compliance standards such as SAE J1757, ISO 15008, and display-specific automotive requirements
Support hands-on product demo setup, debugging, software feature validation, display tuning, and environmental measurements
Drive evaluation of market feedback with product managers and technical leads to support roadmap and change control decisions
Tailor demonstrations to customer use cases, providing pre-sales technical support and addressing OEM questions
Support troubleshooting during demos, vehicle integration, logging, and customer drive evaluations
Support requirements collection, specifications, customer-specific documentation, and vehicle product planning
Collaborate with HMI/UX teams to render HUD and display content optimized for AR-HUD, QVUE, neoQLED, OLED, and other automotive display systems
Conduct training sessions for OEMs on Visual Experiences product setup, calibration, diagnostics, and operation
Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to create impactful Visual Experiences demonstration strategies
Act as the key Japan-based technical interface to the global Visual Experiences product team
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, information technology, or related field; MBA preferred
10–15 years of experience with engineering and product management background
Strong ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to customers and stakeholders
Strong analytical and communication skills
Technical understanding of AR-HUD, QVUE (P-HUD), automotive displays (neoQLED, OLED, microLED), optics, software, and vehicle E/E architecture
Excellent written and verbal English language skills
