Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and financial services, with expertise in various areas such as estate planning, corporate accounting, and public accounting. This role involves preparing tax returns, providing tax planning advice, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The Tax Professional will also assist clients with financial analysis and reporting, making this position essential for our clients' financial well-being. Duties • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations. • Provide tax planning strategies to minimize client liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. • Conduct thorough audits of financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards. • Assist clients in estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law matters. • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for bookkeeping and financial statement preparation. • Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation. • Analyze financial reports to provide insights into clients' financial positions and recommend improvements. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting clients' financial situations. • Collaborate with other professionals on mergers & acquisitions and investment strategies. • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure proper documentation for auditing purposes. Requirements • Proven experience in tax accounting or public accounting is essential. • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, accounts payable, and payroll processing. • Familiarity with SOX compliance, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting principles is preferred. • Proficiency in financial software applications such as Quicken or other relevant tools for analysis and reporting. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively. • Strong communication skills to convey financial information clearly to clients. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment. • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.
