We’re looking for a Tax Technology Specialist who thrives on problem-solving, deep research, and collaboration. You’ll work alongside our Product, Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams to shape the future of indirect tax automation, ensuring businesses around the world stay compliant effortlessly. What you will do : Research, analyze, and track global indirect tax regulations (VAT, GST, US Sales and Use Tax, etc.) and translate them into clear and actionable inputs, helping us scale worldwide. Write internal documentation, reports, and blog posts to keep our team and the market informed about key tax changes. Update Fonoa’s tax engine with legislative changes to maintain its accuracy. Work closely with tax, product, and engineering teams to develop Fonoa’s tax engine, provide feedback, and test new features. Support the wider team with AI-powered tax research experiments and AI automation development. Help onboard new customers with Fonoa’s tax engine. You will be a great fit if: You have proven experience in indirect tax, either in-house, at a tax tech company, or at the Big 4. Bonus points if you have hands-on experience with US sales and use tax! You demonstrate a proven ability to analyze and interpret complex tax regulations. You have great analytical skills and attention to detail. You can support cross-functional teams with research and clearly communicate technical tax issues to non-tax team members (e.g., engineering, sales, and marketing). You have prior experience working with tax engines or a strong interest in learning about them. You are driven by an innovative spirit, and are excited by exploring AI and automation in tax. You thrive in a fast-paced scaleup environment where flexibility, adaptability, and positivity are key. Native or close to native proficiency in English, secondary languages are a plus.
