Job Overview
As a Part-Time Payroll Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing payroll and bookkeeping tasks for our clients. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing accounting firm, providing top-tier bookkeeping services to business owners. Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for clients on a bi-weekly or monthly basis, ensuring accurate and timely submission of payroll taxes and reports.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee information and changes, and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Prepare financial reports as needed, and assist with general bookkeeping tasks, such as reconciling bank accounts and managing accounts payable/receivable.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and respond to client inquiries regarding payroll issues.
- Provide support to clients and team members as needed, and maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and relevant tax laws.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, with a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
We prefer candidates with:
- Experience with bookkeeping and payroll, as well as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.
