We are looking for a US-based Microsoft Power Platform / Azure architect to lead a paid discovery for a business workflow modernization project, with potential to continue into full implementation.
This engagement is focused first on discovery and architecture. Implementation would follow as a separate phase based on an agreed plan.
This is not a basic Power Automate or SharePoint setup. We are replacing Excel-driven order tracking, approvals, and commission calculations with a scalable Microsoft-centric solution that integrates HubSpot and QuickBooks.
Project Context
HubSpot used for CRM and deal management
QuickBooks Online used for invoicing, accounting, and payroll
Microsoft 365 environment with SharePoint, Teams, Outlook
Current heavy reliance on Excel for:
Order tracking
Status updates
Sales commission calculations
Goal is to make Microsoft the operational system of record without replacing HubSpot or QuickBooks
Phase 1: Paid Discovery (Primary Scope)
Objectives
Understand current workflows and pain points
Define system of record for each data domain
Recommend SharePoint Lists vs Dataverse
Design high-level data model and integrations
Define Power Automate orchestration patterns
Recommend QuickBooks integration approach
Define commission calculation approach
Produce a phased implementation plan and rough cost estimate

Budget for Discovery
Target range: $1,500 to $3,000
Hourly or fixed price acceptable
Phase 2: Implementation (Optional Follow-On)
Build SharePoint document structure and permissions
Configure SharePoint Lists or Dataverse tables
Develop Power Apps for order tracking and commissions
Build Power Automate flows for:
HubSpot integration
Order tracking and notifications
Approval workflows
QuickBooks integration
Testing and light documentation
Estimated Implementation Effort
200 to 400 hours depending on complexity
Implementation may be split between architect oversight and Power Platform developers
Required Qualifications
Must be US-based
Strong experience with:
Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
SharePoint Online
Azure architecture concepts
Experience designing systems of record using SharePoint Lists or Dataverse
Experience integrating third-party SaaS tools (HubSpot, QuickBooks, or similar)
Comfortable replacing Excel-based workflows with structured systems
Able to explain tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
Power BI
Commission or incentive compensation workflows
Manufacturing or B2B order processing experience
Microsoft certifications
