RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and direct a team of computer systems specialists in the implementation and operation of integrated computer-based systems.
• Test and operate all phases of the system lifecycle to ensure consistent and reliable system performance.
• Operate all system components as defined in the Task Order, including hardware, software, and mass storage devices.
• Manage the daily operations of computer systems, ensuring uptime, data integrity, and operational continuity.
• Operate and monitor communications-computer systems, providing first-level response and support to any anomalies or failures.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems to meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Implement and tune disk and tape management systems for optimal performance and data storage efficiency.
• Deploy and manage computer operations automation software to streamline repetitive tasks and system processes.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions, isolate faults, and coordinate with engineering and technical support teams for resolution.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures for system operation and security.
• Document system operations, maintenance activities, and incident resolutions for tracking and continuous improvement.
• Support transition planning, implementation, and validation of new systems or system upgrades.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
• 5+ years of relevant experience in computer operations, systems management, or IT support roles.
• Demonstrated experience in managing or directing system operation teams in complex, integrated computing environments.
• Experience in testing, operating, and maintaining computing systems across full lifecycle phases.
• Proven ability to work with communications-computer systems, storage devices, and system operation tools.
• Strong operational knowledge of computer systems hardware and software, including storage and networking components.
• Proficiency in system administration tasks, including OS installation, performance tuning, and patch management.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot system issues efficiently with minimal disruption.
• Familiarity with automation tools for system operations and monitoring.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with technical teams and reporting to management.
Certifications:
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, Red Hat, etc.).
