Video Editor - YouTube Specialist

About the Role: The Catholic Answers Live team is seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor & YouTube Specialist to help expand the reach of The Cy Kellett Show and Catholic Answers Flannel Panel across YouTube and other social platforms. This role is ideal for someone who knows how to make great content even better-someone who understands what drives views, clicks, and engagement on YouTube, and is passionate about Catholic media. Key Responsibilities: Content Creation: • Edit one full episode every other week, alternating between The Cy Kellett Show and Flannel Panel •Add an intro segment to each episode, assign chapters, and craft compelling titles and thumbnails -- Example podcasts: The Cy Kellett Show (interview-based) Flannel Panel Sample (roundtable discussion) • From each episode, produce: • 3 standalone clips (optimized for YouTube search and discovery) • 1 short-form videos (YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels) YouTube Optimization: • Write attention-grabbing, SEO-friendly titles and descriptions • Design custom thumbnails using Photoshop or similar tools • Implement best practices for tags, playlists, and end screens • Track performance and propose content improvements Graphic Design: • Create bold, on-brand thumbnails for all published videos • Ensure consistent visual style across platforms and episodes Strategy and Collaboration: • Work closely with the Director of Catholic Answers Live and the YouTube Manager • Provide creative input on content structure and clip selection • Stay current with platform trends, analytics tools, and YouTube best practices Qualifications: • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve • Strong skills in graphic design and thumbnail creation • Deep understanding of YouTube audience growth, algorithm strategy, and optimization • Experience writing effective titles, descriptions, and video metadata • Familiarity with Catholic theology, culture, and audience preferred • Excellent time management; able to self-direct within a part-time schedule • Passion for digital storytelling and evangelization Compensation and Hours: •$25 per hour •3-month contract with possibility of extension •Part-time: 10 hours per week (flexible schedule) How to Apply: Email the following to [email protected]: • A short note explaining why you're a strong fit for the role • Your resume • Links to relevant portfolio work (videos and thumbnails) Apply tot his job
