We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven virtual paralegal to support ongoing divorce and MSA (Marital Settlement Agreement) enforcement. The ideal candidate has experience managing legal documents, financial evidence, discovery, attorney communication, and court-related deliverables. This role requires consistent tracking, version control, and excellent judgment regarding confidentiality.
This is a remote, part-time contract position with potential for long-term, ongoing weekly work. Key Responsibilities
Evidence & Documentation
Convert texts, emails, screenshots, and financial documents into clean, court-ready PDF exhibits
Maintain standardized exhibit naming conventions (e.g., A–E indexing and monthly archiving)
Organize and preserve all documents — never delete, only archive by rename
Legal Support & Court Preparation
Draft letters, notices, and attorney correspondence (final review by counsel)
Prepare 1-page court summaries, timelines, and judge packets
Track compliance issues and missed obligations per MSA terms
Assist with preparation of discovery responses, interrogatories, and affidavits
Financial Tracking (Training Provided)
Review monthly bank statements and credit card transactions
Tag transactions (HIS / HERS / ADVANCED / UNCONFIRMED)
Update arrears ledger and calculate totals by month
Case Management
Maintain master Court Deadline Tracker
Monitor status of document requests, notarizations, income documents, etc.
Prepare weekly briefs for attorneys with concise status updates
Required Skills & Experience
Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or family law VA
Strong knowledge of document management, legal formatting, and court filing standards
Professional written communication and email drafting skills
Intermediate proficiency with:
Google Drive & Google Docs/Sheets
PDF editing and OCR tools
Basic spreadsheet formulas (filters, pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP helpful)
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive legal data
Experience coordinating with attorneys, opposing counsel, and court staff
Preferred (Not Required)
Family law background, especially divorce or MSA cases
Familiarity with discovery procedures
Experience organizing evidence for hearings, mediation, or negotiation
QuickBooks or financial documentation handling
Comfortable learning naming protocols and version-control systems
