Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting and public accounting, with experience in financial services and a solid understanding of financial concepts. This role involves preparing tax returns, providing tax planning advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Tax Professional will also assist clients with estate planning, auditing, and various financial analyses. Responsibilities • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations. • Provide tax planning strategies to clients, including estate planning and wills, trusts & estate law. • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations. • Analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Assist clients in understanding financial concepts related to investments, asset management, and private equity. • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger accounting. • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for bookkeeping and financial report preparation. • Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Collaborate with clients on mergers & acquisitions to provide comprehensive financial insights. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect client accounts. Requirements • Proven experience but no experience is required, in tax accounting or public accounting is essential. • Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial statement preparation. • Familiarity with auditing practices and regulatory reporting requirements. • Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken or other relevant tools is preferred. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively. • Strong communication skills for client interaction and report writing. • Experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus. • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
