Warehouse Material Handler

Company Overview At Dollar General, Warehouse Material Handler are a critical part of our distribution network. In this role, you'll help keep operations running smoothly by ensuring merchandise is accurately handled and efficiently moved throughout the facility. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced setting while supporting order fulfillment and maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, and productivity. Role and Responsibilities • Product Handling: Use manual and powered equipment—such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks—to move merchandise throughout the warehouse. • Shipping & Receiving: Examine inbound and outbound shipments to confirm accuracy, inspect for damage, and ensure proper paperwork is completed. • Organizing & Labeling: Sort, tag, and organize products on pallets or in designated storage areas for easy access. • Stock Replenishment: Restock pick areas based on inventory needs and respond to restocking requests. • Order Processing: Select and transfer items from assigned pick zones to conveyor belts or prepare them for trailer loading. • Problem Reporting: Notify supervisors of damaged goods, inventory discrepancies, or vendor issues, and assist with resolving them. • Safety & Performance: Follow all safety rules and meet established goals for quality and productivity. • Additional Support: Perform other warehouse tasks or assist with special assignments as directed by leadership. Required Skills and Experience • Good communication skills for following instructions and working well in a team. • Basic math skills to handle inventory counts and calculations. • Experience with warehouse equipment such as RF scanners and forklifts. • Willingness to learn new processes and obtain any necessary certifications. Preferred Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). • Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting. • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
