The approximate date of this internship is January 2026 to June 2026 and will be located in Glendale, CA. What You Will Do We seek a dedicated Mechanical Design & Production Intern to support mechanical design and hands-on production, focusing on special effects, animatronics, and show action equipment. The role includes helping with prototype fabrication and assembly of advanced mechanical and electrical systems. • Contribute to mechanical design, design reviews, drawing /documentation, and ensuring designs meet creative standards. (SolidWorks or similar CAD package) • Assist with mechanical fabrication and assembly under supervision. • Support project goals including mock-ups, integrations, and troubleshooting. • Work with Quality Control and Engineering to resolve issues. • Suggest process improvements and show initiative. • Foster teamwork and uphold communication and integrity standards. Required Qualifications & Skills • Familiarity with machining, welding, and mechanical assembly. • Hands-on experience through industry, school, or club projects. • Proficient in basic fabrication tools and interpreting measurement instruments. • Able to read and understand technical drawings. • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Eagerness to take on new challenges and learn from team members. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience using Airtable • Familiar with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) • Six Sigma (Lean Manufacturing) Education • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related program. Eligibility Requirements & Program Information Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements: • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship • Be at least 18 years of age • Possess unrestricted work authorization • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program Additional Information • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA The pay rate for this role in California is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
