The company focuses on innovative geothermal heating and cooling solutions aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in large-scale projects, including institutional facilities, schools, and hospitals. The Controller will be... responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for the division, which manages exploration projects and operates in both the U.S. and Canadian markets. Position Summary: The Controller will handle end-to-end accounting processes, manage an accounting assistant, and collaborate with the CFO to drive financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. This role is fully remote, with minimal travel required, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge renewable energy technologies that contribute to long-term sustainability. Key Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, recurring entries, and intercompany transactions using QuickBooks. • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and reserve balances to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. • Prepare and monitor annual operating budgets, monthly cash flow forecasts, and capital calls. • Produce financial reporting packages for management, partners, and lenders, including variance analysis and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs). • Oversee payroll review and analysis, as well as various tax, workers' compensation, and regulatory filings. • Analyze project costing and profitability, providing insights for development models and forecasts. • Coordinate the annual audit process and maintain strong internal controls. • Support financial due diligence activities related to acquisitions and prepare required submission packages. • Oversee cash flow management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs. • Assist with corporate consolidations and ensure compliance with financial regulations. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting accuracy and efficiency. • Complete ad hoc financial reporting as needed. Qualifications and Skills: • CPA designation preferred. • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. • Experience with reviewing and interpreting contracts. • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, with at least 7 years of relevant experience. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
