Date Posted: 8/19/2024 Location: Various Locations Date Available: TBD World Languages (French 1) 8th Grade Virtual teacher Job Posting Information Posting ID: Name: World Languages (French 1) 8th Grade Virtual Teacher LOCATION: Online OVERVIEW: NOTICE OF EXTENDED CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT - FIRST POSSIBLE DATE OF HIRE: 08/20/2024 POSITION TITLE: World Languages (French 1) 8th Grade Virtual Teacher PURPOSE: To teach French 1 for high school credit to 8th grade students using standards aligned lessons and assessments that will prepare students for level 2 upon successful completion in a virtual environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Teachers will be expected to be knowledgeable about the World Language Standards. • Teachers will be expected to implement unit assessments throughout the course. • Teachers will be expected to have active communication with students and their guardian(s) in order to support a virtual learning environment. • Teachers will be expected to align their outcomes with other level 1 teacher(s) teaching the same course through PLC work. • Teachers will plan and implement both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities for students using a flipped format. • This teaching responsibility will be compensated at the per diem rate as identified on a short term contract. QUALIFICATIONS: • Certified and contracted Cedar Rapids Community School District World Language French teacher APPLICATION PROCEDURE: • Apply online through the Applicant Manager System TIMETABLE: • Application deadline is 8/19/2024 COMPENSATION: Compensation for this teaching assignment will be at the per diem rate (for both student contact hours and preparation time) as defined on a short term contract. DATES/TIMES: • Classes (all students and teacher) will meet virtually/synchronously at least twice a week for 30 minutes per class during 2024-25 our calendar school year (For example: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 7:30 AM or 3:30 to 4:00 PM). Teachers can choose to add more synchronous time as needed. • Teachers are expected to assign daily lessons on the school days that students do not meet with their class on the LMS of their choice (Google Classroom or Canvas) or a Google Site.
