As a Youth Leader, you will work under the direction of the Site Coordinator, Principal, and Program Director to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for students. This is a remote opportunity, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and facilitate engaging academic and enrichment activities and lessons for groups of approximately 20 students.
• Serve as a positive adult role model, demonstrating appropriate dress, speech, work ethic, and attitude.
• Record and maintain daily attendance and other required documentation.
• Ensure classrooms and program spaces are clean, organized, and safe.
• Utilize positive behavior and classroom management techniques to promote a productive and respectful environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners.
• Attend and actively participate in required staff development workshops, meetings, and trainings.
• Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months of experience working with children aged 5-14.
• Advanced education (AA degree or 48 college semester units) or pass a formal Pasadena Unified School District academic assessment.
• Possession of current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid certificates or obtain within 60 calendar days from the date of hire.
• Pass a Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).
• Current TB Test.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not mandatory, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to influence and motivate others.
• Capacity to work cooperatively and collaboratively with program staff, parents, and the community.
