Junior AI Developer (Python, Machine Learning)
Salary: $95,000 - 105,000 per year Requirements: • Proven proficiency in Python for scripting and automation • Familiarity with AI concepts and at least one major AI API (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google AI) • Understanding of version control principles using Git • Basic knowledge of testing methodologies • Ability to organize code effectively • Comfortable working with REST APIs and webhooks • Experience handling data formats such as JSON and CSV • 0-2 years of relevant professional software development experience or notable personal/academic projects in AI/ML • Portfolio demonstrating hands-on coding skills and problem-solving abilities • Strong interest in AI/ML and enthusiasm for developing practical applications that address business challenges • Quickly adaptable to rapid changes within the AI domain • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Good questioning ability and knowing when to seek assistance • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to embrace feedback • Analytical thinker with a commitment to continuous improvement Responsibilities: • Create and manage AI-driven applications to enhance our book publishing processes • Work with advanced AI frameworks (such as OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) to develop effective solutions for editorial, marketing, sales, and operations teams • Design workflow automations that integrate AI functionalities into existing publishing systems under the mentorship of our Director of Automation & AI • Implement API integrations and create customized tools for content analysis and market research • Collaborate with diverse teams to identify challenges and convert business requirements into technical solutions • Engage in requirements gathering, testing, and user training to understand publishing workflows • Produce comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical users to facilitate system maintenance • Keep project records, draft technical specifications, and enhance our teams knowledge base • Continuously learn through hands-on experience, code reviews, and mentorship from seasoned developers • Stay updated with AI research and tools, experiment with proof-of-concept projects, and deepen expertise in publishing technology Technologies: • AI • API • Azure • Git • JSON • Marketing • Python • REST • Cloud • GitHub • Support More: We are Sourcebooks, an independent publishing company recognized as Newsweeks #2 Most Loved Workplace in 2024 and acknowledged for innovation by Fast Company.
