K12 Project Managers - Educational Publishing
Lumina Datamatics is proactively building a network of seasoned, US based, project managers who have expertise in managing K–12 content development and full-service production projects for academic publishers. Project Details: Project managers will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of various educational initiatives within the K–12 space, including textbook revisions, new editions, supplements, teacher and student editions, assessment development, and more. Anticipated hours and project details will vary depending on the project, with compensation to be determined on a project-by-project basis. Day-to-Day Tasks: • Manage all contracted service areas for educational projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met. • Manage project documentation and communicate all updates to internal stakeholders and team members, including contractors. • Keep all internal project trackers and client tracking systems current on a daily basis. • Prepare materials for internal or external transmittals. • Identify risks and escalate them to internal project lead. • Provide regular status updates and collaborate with all key stakeholders who include the editorial team, SME authors, permissions, client contacts, etc., to ensure project success. • Tasks will vary but may include assisting senior staff members and project leads in managing curriculum development, quality assurance checks, resource allocation, and team coordination, both internally and externally. Ideal Candidate Attributes: • Ideally a bachelor’s degree in education, project management, or a related field or relevant experience. • Proven experience managing K–12 educational projects, with a proficient knowledge of K–12 content development and production workflows. • Ability to craft an effective and efficient workflow plan for both content development and production projects, as well as create and maintain project schedules. • Ability to manage, organize, and coordinate multiple complex projects simultaneously. • Help to create and manage approved budgets, invoicing, and monthly reporting. • Strong communication (written and verbal) and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment. • Ability to internalize and apply feedback given by senior staff members. • Serve as a key client-facing contact alongside senior staff members and/or project leads. • Experience with remote project management and virtual collaboration tools. • Authorized to work in the US. • Available to work during US Eastern standard business hours. • Ability to meet project deadlines and flexibility to attend virtual meetings as needed.
