Law Firm Practice Manager

SourcePro Search has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Practice Manager. Our client is a top ranked, major global law firm and this position will be remote but based from the NYC or Washington DC area. This role offers a high base and excellent growth potential. Responsibilities:• Overall Business Unit Operations: Manage operational and strategic aspects of the practice including: client service/staffing/pricing, productivity, organizational structure and communications, data/technology information flow, and innovation.Identify Business Unit needs and opportunities, and work to advance relevant initiatives. • Talent Management: After understanding the talent management goals of the Business Unit, work with personnel committee and interact with partners and Talent/Associate Development professionals on various talent management initiatives. These initiatives include recruitment, diversity and inclusion, professional development, and training. Understand the broader firm tools, process, and strategy to ensure proper execution on the BU's initiatives.• Business Intelligence: Produce reporting and analytics to build business intelligence that informs Business Unit leadership on trends related to overall Business Unit management including: talent management, financial performance, and knowledge management. Collaborate with Managing Director of Practice Management & Client Development, partners, and other professional staff to identify actionable issues and plans arising out of metrics analysis and execute on related efforts to support and advance BU initiatives.• Team Management: Together with the Managing Director, manage workload and professional development for the team through coaching, mentoring, delegation, and supervision. Qualifications:• J.D. or MBA preferred. • Prefer 5-7 plus years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or 5 years' experience as a business professional in practice management, client relationship management, business development or attorney development role in a law firm. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.• Proven abilities to manage projects and tasks including demonstrating delegation and organizational skills. • Effective and creative problem solving and people management skills. • Working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
