Lead Data Engineer
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Lead Data Engineer, where you will leverage your extensive expertise in cloud data ecosystems (OCI, AWS, Azure) to build innovative and secure data solutions. In this strategic role, you will be a key player within Oracle's Consumer Global Industries Unit, architecting and developing essential components of a next-gen data platform that supports Oracle Industry Applications. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing robust data pipelines and ensuring high-quality data integration and delivery processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of creating and managing large-scale enterprise data platforms. Hands-on experience with cloud data services (OCI, AWS, Azure), including their data engineering tools and AI/ML service integration. Advanced capabilities in building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, transformation, validation, and orchestration. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Kafka, Java, or Scala, with experience in distributed data processing technologies like Spark, Databricks, or Apache Beam. Comprehensive understanding of best practices in data governance, quality, security, and compliance in cloud-first or hybrid setups. Familiarity with industry-standard tools for workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow), data cataloging, and monitoring. Experience in regulated industries and knowledge of relevant compliance standards is an advantage. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills when working within global and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop efficient, scalable, and secure data pipelines (both batch and real-time) to integrate data into Oracle Industry Applications. Optimize data architectures in cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure) including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and orchestration frameworks. Collaborate with data architects to implement data modeling best practices and uphold platform-wide standards such as medallion architecture. Establish comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and data quality frameworks to assure pipeline reliability and accuracy. Enforce best practices in data security, lineage, metadata management, and compliance. Partner with analysts, ML engineers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to enhance data usage and analytics for Oracle Industry Applications. Continuously evaluate and integrate new data technologies to enhance platform performance and capabilities. Lead troubleshooting efforts and perform root cause analysis for data issues, ensuring platform stability and accessibility. Mentor junior data engineers and inspire technical excellence and innovation across the engineering team. Location: Work will be based at our offices as required. Please note that certain roles may be subject to immunization and health mandates. The salary range for this position is from $96,800 to $223,400 annually, with potential for bonuses and equity.
