This position would also be responsible for using structured development and measurement tools to ensure program effectiveness. There may be occasions where facilitation is needed in other UW areas.The Learning Consultant will report to the Assistant Director of UW Excellence and partner closely with other members of the team in learning, design development, front-line leadership and other learning management leadership in order to successfully implement learning solutions. Learning audiences could include on-site classrooms and virtual facilitation. The ideal candidate will energize, excite and inspire new and existing employee’s purpose! They will facilitate high-quality learning experiences that engage new and existing staff while promoting exceptional customer experience.Role:Provides consultative support to, and models for others, the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of both instructional and non-instructional performance improvement interventions at all levels. Pursues and delivers technical, divisional, industry and management development programs using a variety of instructional media. Utilizes expertise in project management. Identifies business impacts. Leads in the design of programs providing technical, functional, and project management expertise.Pursues and applies technical expertise in business specialty. Works independently; coaches others. Evaluates effectiveness of training and interventions; determines cost/benefits associated. Focus on both training and non-training intervention. Drive identification and address (ongoing) learning needs of the employee base and promote consistency across the organization. Coordinate recommendations for improvements to process, procedures, development and implementation of workflow/process modifications, manage and investigate performance improvement needs across the division.Responsible for monitoring and evaluating training techniques and materials. Owns preparation of various reports on skill assessment, training participation and other related topicsWHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? Coordinate with Underwriting Partners to create detailed and effective functional training on applicable processes, procedures, policies and/or core system applications to new hires and existing staff members while using a combination of adult learning delivery methodologies and distance learning technologies.Effectively executing learning strategies and collaborating with Front Line Managers and mentorsEnsuring effective coordination and execution of the structured programs that support various learning initiativesPartnering with internal business partners to provide creative solutions to close performance gapsLeading the implementation of learning programs and other projects that support business initiativesFocus on continuous improvement of the learning programsStay current with adult learning approaches and shows the ability to adapt to technology changesQUALIFICATIONS2 + years of Employee Benefits experienceEmployee Benefits Underwriting experience requiredBachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experienceMinimum of 1 year of experience with formal training which may include: mentoring, coaching, leading Team Huddles and/or formal training sessions virtually or onsiteWorking familiarity with MS Office Required (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Exposure to Articulate360 and Camtasia is a plus!Technical exposure to Case Management, FUSION, PRISM and Promise is preferredProactively works with assigned area to develop programs and training to support business goalsReadily able to build successful and productive business relationshipsDemonstrated capacity to professionally communicate in a written and verbal formatAbility to influence and drive successful business outcomesFamiliarity with change management, critical-thinking and root cause problem solving is a plus! Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role.The base pay is just one component ofThe Hartford’s total compensation package for employees.
