Loan Fulfillment Mortgage UnderwriterAt Regions, the Loan Fulfillment Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for evaluating and approving or denying loan applications in a timely manner according to investor and Regions guidelines. This level contains both government designations or jumbo lending authority of $1M or higher. Primary Responsibilities• Reviews loan application in conjunction with income, asset and credit documentation for data integrity and accuracy• Performs manual underwriting on files according to guidelines and performs analysis of income assets, credit, Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO), Debt to Income, Loan to Value and review for any potential risk• Sets clear and concise conditions for missing documentation that is necessary to meet investor guidelines• Communicates underwriting decision and explains reasons for conditions in the Empower system• Responds to questions on conditions from processors, Mortgage Loan Coordinators (MLCs), or Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) in a reasonable timeframe• Documents and notifies all parties of any reasons for a suspended file and monitors timelines to make a final approval or decline• Reviews the underwriting conditions and re-runs the Automated Underwriting, if applicable• Performs cursory review of the appraisal for accuracy• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations• May train associates with less experienceThis position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.This position is incentive eligible. Requirements• High School Diploma or GED• Four (4) years of underwriting experience and active Direct Endorsement Program Lender (Federal Housing Administration) DE(FHA) and/or Lender Appraisal Processing Program LAPP (VA) designationsPreferences• Non-conforming Jumbo underwriting experience• Bachelor's degreeSkills and Competencies• Ability to meet timelines• Advanced knowledge of sales contracts, applications and loan appraisals• Detail oriented• Extensive knowledge of agency and investor guidelines and regulations• Good problem-solving skills• Good organization and communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)This is a fully remote role.Previous Regions Mortgage Experience preferred. Full timeCompensation DetailsPay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job. Job Range Target:Minimum: $83,967.00 USDMedian: $104,720.00 USDIncentive Pay Plans:This role is eligible to participate in a formulaic incentive plan.Employees have the potential to earn incentives based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
