Manufacturing Engineering - Design Support
About the positionResponsibilities• Real-time technical support with manufacturers to ensure design requirements are clear and correct. • Troubleshooting drawing issues involving materials, paints and finishes, welding and brazing, GD&T, marking, and testing as they pertain to different commodities. • Daily interfacing with Raytheon subject matter experts and responsible engineers as required. • Communicating technical issues across functional areas and documenting technical details. • In-person meetings with Raytheon engineers and external manufacturers at local facilities.• Encourage Raytheon's supplier base to engage with our team at the earliest possible phase of production. • Define the appropriate Universal Commodity Code (UCC) to accurately categorize parts for procurement. • Create Supplier Change Request Notification (SCRN) records within cPDM for program review. • Assist and mentor teammates. Requirements• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. • Relevant experience is as follows (in any combination) Manufacturing or mechanical design or drafting in a manufacturing environment. • Analyzing and/or coding / writing 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE, CREO.
