Medication Use & Management Analyst

The Analyst for Medication Use and Management is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting clinical and medication-related data to support medication optimization, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. This role collaborates closely with the Clinical Analytics team and clinical leadership on medication use and value-based care initiatives. Essential Functions and Work ResponsibilitiesFunctional Category: Medication Data Analytics and Reporting – Technical and Analytical DutiesEstimated Percent of time Spent – 85%• Analyzes pharmacy medication claims data for potential fraud, waste and abuse including overcharges, over dispensing and inefficient utilization• Integrate and synthesize multiple data sources (e.g.EPIC, MedWise, PBM, medical claims, finance) to produce accurate and timely clinical quality performance reports for senior leadership. • Design and execute data analyses to inform and support clinical quality improvement, care management and utilization management initiatives in collaboration with clinical leadership. • Provide analytical support for medication use and clinical value initiatives through data collection, consolidation, performance tracking, and opportunity identification. • Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews of medication claims data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for quality and utilization improvement.• Develop, maintain and enhance KPI dashboards to track and trend organization-wide performance for senior leadership. Functional Category: Medication Data Analytics and Reporting – Cross-functional collaborationEstimated Percent of time Spent – 15%• Prepare and present analytical findings to senior leadership, clinical and quality teams using written, visual, and oral presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Serve as a subject matter expert on measurement and analysis methodologies, advising on data collection, analytic implications, and opportunities for data-driven improvement.• Collaborate regularly with clinical leadership, quality, compliance, and risk management teams to review data, identify unmet analytical needs and recommend process enhancements based on emerging data trends. • Partner with Information Technology, Data Analytics, and Clinical Applications departments to support the development and refinement of reporting tools and data infrastructure. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsREQUIRED• Bachelor's degree in research, statistics, health administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with data analysis. Experience with a health plan or PBM is preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with generating and ensuring accurate and easily understood data analyses and presenting results orally, in written form or graphical format for review by both technical and non-technical audiences.• Working knowledge of healthcare industry medication quality measures, clinical performance, and financials measures. • Experience with obtaining and manipulating health care data such as: medication claims, clinical values etc. PREFERREDWork Experience and Qualifications• Experience with Epic and Clarity preferred• Advanced skills using Tableau, Excel, SQL and related tools, including construction and use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA and Macros. • Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build positive working relationships. • Organized, detail-oriented, diplomatic, proactive, self-motivated, accountable, and committed to excellence. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and composure. • Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
