Mission Critical Solutions Architect, RCDD, Remote, $180k
Mission Critical Solutions Architect A design-focused engineering consultancy operating in the mission-critical space is seeking a Data Center & Mission Critical Solutions Architect to lead the technical design and execution of resilient, high-availability infrastructure. This role sits at the center of design authority and delivery, partnering with project management, construction, and client teams to ensure systems are conceived, built, and commissioned to perform under the most demanding conditions. The Role You will own the technical narrative across data center and critical facilities projects, from early concept through commissioning and handover. The focus is on buildable, scalable, and operationally sound design. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design of integrated mission-critical systems aligned to uptime, scalability, and operational resilience • Translate requirements into coordinated, build-ready design packages including system architectures, sequences of operation, BOMs, and interfaces • Act as the technical partner to project managers, engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout delivery • Support constructability, phasing, and risk mitigation across live projects • Design and integrate power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, monitoring / DCIM, and facility infrastructure • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (NEC, TIA, ASHRAE, Uptime methodologies, local AHJs) • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and operational turnover • Contribute to change management, value engineering, and technical risk assessment • Support inspections, as-builts, punch lists, and close-out with an operational mindset Background & Experience • 5+ years’ experience in data centre, mission-critical, or critical infrastructure environments • Strong technical grounding in power, cooling, monitoring, and integrated facility systems • Experience working alongside construction and project delivery teams on active sites • Proficiency with AutoCAD; BIM and coordinated design workflows a plus • Comfortable communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Detail-driven, proactive, and solutions-oriented • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience • Mission-critical credentials such as RCDD, BICSI DCDC, or similar are advantageous Why This Role • Design-led environment with real technical ownership • Exposure to complex, high-availability data centre programmes • Senior-level influence without unnecessary hierarchy • Focus on performance, resilience, and delivery quality • Full Remote Role • Unlimited PTO Apply tot his job
