What We DoPrepare title commitments from provided title opinions.Search public records and examine information of primarily commercial or industrial property, that will support the title opinion. Copy or summarize recorded documents which affect the condition of title to the property. Works with the title opinion attorney and customer on issues that are reported on the title opinion relying on their experience. Projects undertaken can range from simple parcels requiring a few hours of production time to commercial properties that may take days or even weeks to complete.HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE• Performs title examination and examines the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily commercial/residential within North and South Carolina• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books. Determines ownership and legal restrictions to verify legal description of property and completeness of records that may cross county lines. • Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines and provided attorney title opinion.• Knowledge of legal description plotting• Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation• Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines• Prepares and reviews reports for accuracy• May provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines• Other duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL BRINGRequired Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure• High School Diploma or equivalent• 3+ years directly related experience• NC and SC examining experience preferred• State license(s) if requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)• Detail / quality orientation• Analytical review skills• Research skills• Strong problem solving skills• Communication skills, both verbal and written• Customer service orientation• Standard MS skill set• Proficient with company operating systems• Knowledge of legal terms helpfulSalary Range: $26.21 - $34.95 HourlyThis hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting.Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. #NPSTitleExaminersWhat We OfferBy choice, we don’t simply accept individuality – we embrace it, we support it, and we thrive on it!
