Patient Services Associate/Assistant (Facial Cosmetics) - Brighton Center for Specialty Care
About the position The Patient Services Associate/Assistant at the Brighton Center for Specialty Care is responsible for frontline interaction with patients and families, performing clerical functions in a busy outpatient clinic setting. This role emphasizes high-quality medical care, excellent customer service, and a commitment to patient-centered experiences. The individual will support the Facial Cosmetic Clinic by ensuring efficient operations and a positive experience for patients and staff alike. Responsibilities • Provide general clerical support in a fast-paced, high-volume patient care environment. • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, providers, and team members. • Assist patients and families with check-in and check-out services. • Gather and verify patient demographics, insurance, and other pertinent information. • Prepare, maintain, and update forms, consents, and questionnaires. • Collect co-pays, account payments, prepare charge tickets, and reconcile cash collections. • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, tests, and consults accurately and timely. • Manage MiChart in-basket notes and front-end work queues. • Confirm, notify, and remind patients of appointments and changes. • Collaborate with nursing teams, providers, medical assistants, and call center staff to enhance patient care and experience. • Provide support and coverage to other clerical areas as needed. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED. • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. • Cheerful and energetic individual with a positive and professional attitude. • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction while managing clinic needs in a fast-paced environment. • Strong attention to detail, multitasking, accountability, and follow-through abilities. • Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and information technology communication skills. • Proven ability to work well under pressure and maintain excellent attendance and reliability. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of check-in, check-out, and outpatient scheduling utilizing MiChart (EPIC-Cadence) system. • Clerical experience and medical terminology knowledge. • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting. • Familiarity with Michigan Medicine's electronic health record setting. • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
