Payroll & Contractor Coordinator (Contract Role) (4–6 hrs/month)Empowered Cooks |Remote | ContractorEmpowered Cooks is a fast-growing, bolthires-first e-commerce brand that partners with contractors across multiple projects each month. We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Payroll & Contractor Coordinator to manage time tracking, review contractor hours, ensure accountability, and prepare monthly payroll. This is a flexible, part-time contract role (approximately 4–6 hours/month) with the potential to grow into expanded HR responsibilities over time.⭐ What You’ll DoYou will own the monthly payroll accountability process, including:Payroll & Time Tracking• Review contractor hours submitted each month using our time-tracking tool. • Confirm hours are associated with real work, correct projects, and clear deliverables. • Communicate directly with contractors to clarify missing, incorrect, or questionable hours. • Prepare a monthly payroll summary for all contractors. • Submit payroll (or prepare final payroll for approval). Contractor Accountability• Follow up with contractors on late submissions, unclear entries, or inconsistencies.• Ensure contractors are staying aligned with expectations and accountable to their hours. • Maintain a simple monthly tracking system for contractor hours, rates, and communication. Communication & HR Support• Maintain clear, respectful, documented communication with contractors. • Make decisions independently about which hours should be approved, flagged, or corrected. • Escalate only when necessary—this role is empowered to operate autonomously. ⭐ What We’re Looking ForThis is an excellent role for someone early in their operations, admin, or payroll support career who enjoys structure, clarity, and helping teams stay accountable.You’re a great fit if you:• Are organized, proactive, and detail-oriented• Have strong written communication skills• Are comfortable holding remote contractors accountable• Can review time logs and bolthires inconsistencies• Are able to make independent decisions with confidence• Are comfortable working just a few hours a month, primarily at month-end• Are eager to learn our time-tracking system (no prior experience needed)⭐ Requirements• Ability to work remotely• Availability for 4–6 hours at the end of each month• A calm, clear communication style (professional, firm, and kind)• Comfortable reaching out to contractors directly about time tracking questions• Strong integrity and commitment to accurate, fair payroll practices• Experience with payroll, operations, or administrative work is a plus, but not required⭐CompensationThis is a contract role.Please include your hourly rate when applying. ⭐ Growth OpportunitiesIf the partnership works well, this role may expand into additional HR responsibilities as the company grows—recruiting, onboarding, contractor organization, and more.
